Mathias was born in Wiesbaden / Germany in 1963. He played drums and guitar in the 70´s and moved on to keyboards in the early 80´s. Since the late 80´s he has specialized in synthesizer drones and myriad forms of overtone music and explored their effects on the human psyche.

|
He was significantly influenced by Klaus Wiese and his work with singing bowls and overtone effects - an artist who has released some extraordinary music in this genre during a few decades. Mathias created several projects with musicians such as Tomas Weiss, Rüdiger Gleisberg, Oophoi, Amir Baghiri and others.
